‘Radiant’ is a queer poem using colour to challenge labels and perceptions of gender.

Gold wears no gender:
as it binds to flesh, redesigns
skin into sculpture,
pastel binaries
dissolve into sun.

What remains is Radiant.
The bodies surrender
signs of sex,
coded confines:
become sublime.

A worn history of labels,
stitched by one kind
for the good of mankind:
released, reborn
by crucible.
